its great nature, the water
burst over the limestone
rapids in a optical
spectacle. Pure nature, no
people around just a
pleasant view. The day trip
to Koh Poi Waterfall is with a
small boat with an outboard
engine, this plastic boat is
real fast it jumps over the
waves and bangs down real
hard.
Fee is around $ 30,-
to 40,- if you do this trip
make sure to take a bigger
boat with a cover on top. If
there is no cover a bad
sunburn the day after is the
result. Along the waterway
is some work going on,
barges move goods upstream
and bring down raw material.
The area is real beautiful
just as it would have popped
out from a Joseph Conrad
book.
A few cottages along the
river show that some tourism
attempts are made but
everything is low key. Again
we have the wrong
classification this is not a
waterfall, this are rapids. |
