- From Phnom
Penh to Siem Reap are several options to travel.
There are
flights from Phnom Penh
to Siem Reap and a good bus Phnom Penh Siem Reap.
Actually the seats in the
bus are as good as any seat in a airline business class,
this is no yoke. Travel Phnom Penh should always include
a trip to the north visiting Angkor and Siem Reap. There
is also a connection with the Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
boat. Since there is not much to see on the Tonle Sap
Lake on that route the bus is the better option, travel
time with the bus is 5 hours, on top
of it, the boat is $ 35,- and the bus is $7,-, travel
Siem Reap is also via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur Airport and
Singapore Airport, a Angkor Wat tour always starts via
Siem Reap.
The Bus
from Bangkok to Phnom Penh
is through Siem Reap which is only 6.3km south of Angkor
and in between is the airport. The Phnom Penh bus leaves
the city bus terminal appr. every 3 hours during
daytime, there are different sized busses, the smaller
ones are faster but cost the double of the big ones, the
fare for the the bigger is about $7,-.
Since Siem
Reap to Angkor Wat is only 6.3km
its practically within the city, effectively rather not
because to enter the Angkor Archeological Park needs a
ticket for $ 20,- per day. In between is Siem Reap
airport.
