Cambodia Day Trip Sre Ambel Koh Kong

There are some rivers around still holding water

and as closer the trek gets to the hills the more narrow it gets. After a while we had to leave the bike and start walking. Its a steep ascending for about one hour and its hot, sweat and needs a good condition, don't start this day trip with slippers it will give additional problems at this dirt treks lots of small and sharp stones paving the road. Broken bamboo stems are beside the trek razorblade sharp imagine what happen when you slip and fall into them, the danger is in the detail. After a while there is thunder in

the air, a good motivation to walk the dirt trek faster until the high waterfall can be spotted at the left. Looks real great, the height is around 60 meters and we approach the fall from the top, there is a basin at the down end but not accessible unless doing some real rock climbing but since this is a very remote area it's not worth to take the risk of an accident and its not needed anyway since the falls are very good visible, real great nature.

and sitting down for a while we trek back, this day trip is recommended to anyone who is at Koh Kong for a few days and it should be done together with a local since it is very difficult to find the right destination.when several dirt roads are crossing and naturally there as sings etc. there is also nobody around to ask. No danger of mines is in this area.

When being back at Sre Ambel village just ask the guy he should stop a car for you there are always minibuses pick ups around and it needs to find one which id driving to Koh Kong. To overcome hanging around to long, just stop one of the passing cars not the ones which are parked at the road. Take a cap and a shirt with long sleeves otherwise a bad sunburn is for sure.
